Founder Profile

Akemi Chikaoka

Akemi Chikaoka

CEO | Japanese Learning and Support Coordinator

Graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies.
After working at Yamaichi Securities, Fuji Bank, and a full-service hotel, I transitioned into the field of Japanese language education. As a Japanese language teacher and operations manager of a Japanese teacher training program, I was involved in Japanese language education, instructor development, program management, and curriculum design.

Currently, as a Japanese Learning and Support Coordinator, I work with public elementary and junior high schools and boards of education in Tokyo, overseeing the development of Japanese instruction systems for children with foreign roots. My responsibilities range widely from needs assessment, instruction plan design, instructor recruitment and placement, to coordination with schools and parents.

Message

What I've faced daily in the field are the accumulation of small difficulties that systems and textbooks alone cannot address. Due to language differences, school information doesn't reach families well, or family wishes don't reach schools. I've seen many situations where anxiety and misunderstandings arise, though no one is at fault.

Atelier C Co., Ltd. was born to gradually untangle these unspoken difficulties through systems and the power of language.

With children at the center, making communication between schools and families easier. We continue to provide careful support, aiming for a society where children with foreign roots and their families can learn and live their daily lives with peace of mind.
